SKB’s new 85TSS - Target Super Sport is the most performance oriented line of target guns ever offered by SKB.  Unlike previous models, each element of the 85TSS series was designed to meet the requirements established by today’s Sporting Clay competitors.

The 85TSS action is a low profile receiver which utilizes a “Greener” style crossbolt locking mechanism reinforced by 2 shoulder lugs and a base lug.  The barrels are seated into the receiver and rotate on two trunnions mounted in the sides of the receiver.  The silver nitrite finished receiver is enhanced with rolled engraving in a beautiful arabesque scroll pattern along the sides, bottom, and top of the receiver.

The trigger of the 85TSS has been redesigned to eliminate creep and over-travel.  This new tournament trigger allows the sear to disengage and drop with less pull weight.  The shooter feels a smooth and crisp pull.  The hammers are powered by “V” shaped springs providing faster lock times than conventional coil springs.

The 12 gauge competition barrel group of the 85TSS series features 3 inch chambers, .735 back bored barrels which are highly polished and chrome lined.  The forcing cones have been lengthened and polished.  Each barrel is fitted with the competition inter-choke tube system manufactured by Briley International.  The resultant combination of these features produces truer shot patterns with less flyers, reduced felt recoil and muzzle lift.  The ventilated side ribs allow for improved heat dissipation and faster cooling.  The top rib is a step up semi-wide 12mm / 5 center groove, or 8.5mm / 3 center grooves with matte sides.  The competition sight package includes a center post and a HI-VIZ litepipe sight.  This sight system includes 8 interchangeable litepipes in 4 colors and two diameters.  This sighting plane insures fast target acquisition and proper alignment.  Optional pigeon porting by Mag-Na-port is available on 12 gauge models and 12- 20 gauge two barrel sets.

The tournament style stock features a tighter radius of the pistol grip, with a parallel comb.  Optional adjustable combs provide both height and offset adjustments in 1/16 inch graduations.  The cast of the stock is neutral at the heel with a slight right hand bias at the toe.  The overall length of pull has been increased to 14 ½ inches.  Each stock is fitted with a .8 inch Pachmayr SC100 sporting clay pad.  The matte finished stock and schnabel forend are tastefully detailed with 17 line checkering.

The new tournament stock and forend balances the shotgun between the shooters hands.  This allows the gun to be mounted smoothly with a responsive feel.  The fit of the stock allows the shooter to point the shotgun accurately, and controls the effects of recoil.

The 85TSS Sporting Clays models are available in 12, 20, 28 and .410 gauge.  The 12 gauge is available with choice of barrel lengths; 28", 30" or 32".  The small gauge models will be available in either 28" or 30" barrel lengths.  The Sporting Clay sets are available in 12 & 20, 20 & 28, and 20, 28 & 410 gauges - 3 barrel sets with 30" barrels.
